Maths Week 12th–16th October 2026

We are delighted to be celebrating Maths Week 2026 in Whitecross N.S. from Monday 12th to Friday 16th October!

This year, our focus is on developing a positive attitude towards maths and helping our pupils to recognise that maths is all around us. From cooking and shopping to building, playing games, telling the time and exploring the world around us, we use maths every day!

Maths Week at School

Throughout the week, pupils will be taking part in a range of fun and engaging maths activities in their classrooms.

As part of our whole-school Maths Week activities, pupils from 1st–6th Class will work on their Maths Journals. These journals will travel with pupils as they move through the school and will provide them with an opportunity to record and reflect on their mathematical thinking, ideas, strategies and learning.

Maths Week at Home

We would also love for our families to get involved!

We have created a Maths Week Choice Board with a variety of fun, practical activities that you can try together at home. There is no need to complete them all — simply pick and choose the activities that appeal to your family.

The aim is to show children that maths doesn’t have to be something we only do at a desk or in a maths lesson. Maths can be fun, creative and part of everyday family life!
