Parents Association

Whitecross NS Parents Association

Whitecross N.S. Parents’ Association aims to build an effective partnership between the home and school. We aim to support staff and pupils in the school in a variety of ways to promote a happy, safe and positive school environment for our children. We also aim to support and empower parents to be active in the best interests of their children’s education. The Parents’ Association meet on the first Monday of every month and all parents are welcome to attend or get involved. Meetings have been held on Zoom but may return to face to face meetings in the near future. Being involved in the PA does not mean a huge commitment; people can give as little or as much time as they can. Even participation in one event a year means a lot.

The position of Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary are elected by parents at the Annual General Meeting which is held in October.

Listed below are the parents currently in these roles:

  • Chairperson: Caroline McLeod, whitecrossnspa@gmail.com
  • Treasurer: Fiona Leahy
  • Secretary: Suzanne Mullally

The Parents’ Association has an excellent working relationship with the school and have undertaken numerous joint projects over the years. The Pupil Accident Insurance scheme and the Book Rental Scheme are managed in partnership with the school.

The Parents’ Association are currently working towards raising funds for yard markings and murals in the new school. To date this year the Parents’ Association have made a considerable donation towards PE equipment and equipment for our ASD classes (Rang Aisling & Rang Draíocht).
