I wish to thank all the parents for their continued support over the last year. Without parents volunteering it would not be possible for the parents association to run the various events and activities that they do each year.
Andrew Lenehan – Chairperson
Sympathy:
We would like to express our deepest sympathy to Niamh Mitchell and her family on behalf of the parents association on the recent loss of her husband Tony.
The Book Scheme:
Once again we want to thank Deirdre Gray, Grainne Cronin and all the parents who volunteered with the book scheme this year. Without their hard work we would not be able to run the book scheme each year.
Sports Day:
Thanks to those who helped with the set up of the sports day on Saturday evening and also those who helped out with the races and other activities on the day. After the cancellation of it last year it was wonderful to have the fantastic weather and the day was made with the additions of the chuck wagon, ice cream van and the face painting.
Graduation Mass:
The 6 Class graduation mass took place on 23 June. The parents association want to wish each and every student the very best for their future in secondary school and beyond.
School Build Committee:
A school build committee has been formed and has met a number of times. The committee consists of Alan Flynn (Chairperson), Liz Reilly (Secretary) and Andrew Lenehan & Paddy Prendergast (Joint Treasurers). As you will have read on the school newsletter there has been a lack of communication between the DES and the school. In light of this we expect and will rely on your continued support when we return in September.
AGM:
The parents association have provisionally decided on 29 September to hold their AGM. This will be confirmed on our return to school in September.
Monthly Meeting:
Our next monthly meetings take place on the Monday 6 September, 2010 in the school at 8.30pm. ALL ARE WELCOME
